My Therapeutic Approach

My primary goal is to help your child develop healthy coping skills and strategies so they can fully thrive. If worries or intense emotions are holding your child back, I can help them find ways to cope and to get back to the fun of their childhood.

I have an extensive background in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), which is a goal-oriented form of talk therapy that uses hands-on exercises to adjust unhelpful thinking patterns and teach kids how to cope with challenging emotions. In my practice, I also commonly utilize DBT, ACT, and mindfulness-based interventions (feel free to reach out to learn more).

With all my clients, my first goal is to understand how current thoughts and behaviors might be interfering with a healthy, happy life. Once we identify the barriers, we work together to create a treatment plan and determine next steps.

Parents and caregivers are an important part of a child’s success, so I invite parents and caregivers to be a collaborative part of treatment. We’ll work together as a team to support your child’s therapy goals.
